Week 17 – Flash Blog 17

With the sadness of Juno’s passing lingering over our days, I’ve left the final chapters and returned to editing the beginning. There’s a weariness that clings when one is grieving – even for a dog. Or maybe, more so.

I’m revising the manuscript as I go, always seeking a particular ‘feel’ for the story. At the moment, I’m satisfied that my latest rewrite is enhancing the mood I’m trying to create. We are undeniably affected by the events of our lives and those we meet. My current story now carries an aura of  Juno’s life and death along with the lyricism of a wonderful poetry event I attended in April.

Trying out a new formatting idea which seems to lend itself to the story. So on to Draft 4…  although the characters are  not yet fully planted  in the final chapters!

A dear friend was buried this week, leaving an aching void. More days of sadness and fond memories. I’m hopeful, nonetheless, of picking up the pieces of my unfinished manuscript this weekend…
