Writing when it doesn’t seem like it
A writer’s life is compartmentalized into three phases – researching, writing and taking a break.
The writing phase, in which I’m presently trying to immerse myself, is a time of discipline.
Nonetheless, sometimes the flow is disrupted by inevitabilities: a competing project, income tax month, a friend’s funeral.
But I will not despair. Brain waves remain active when the pen is still.
Each wave is alive with bits of storyline, snatches of dialogue, glimpses of scenery and sensory stimulants.
So I’m jotting down some of these treasures when they present themselves.
I’m riding the wave.
